Photographer's Loving Photography

A Big Shout Out to My Peers and Some Hero's

Here's the list of a few of my photographer friends that have pledged support of this project BM 2010 images called MetropoLOVE.  I am in high gear to get this done after along recessive detour.
I need help and asking for it has been moving my energy on a higher Spiritual frequency.
I feel the message in this body of work is bigger than just image but reflects love and educates about art and the artist.  It has many iconic images, some you d hang and some you go Oh MY!....Nothing short of EVOCATIVE.

MetropoLOVE Adam & Eve

THE ART OF LOVE
As I listen to lectures by Deepak Chopra and Oprah Life class I realize that my soul has selected my body. 
Deep connections and natural desire have given it many profound lessons. 
Attachment and detachment. 
Peace and joy always goal.
In this project you will see and read feelings from all the subjects, artist, staff and guest whom have shared in the Burning Man experience.
What is LOVE?
What INSPIRES YOU?
I love deeply and its a blessing and a curse.
New souls like a child, tend to consume and old souls do the work.
Age has nothing to do with maturity of a soul spirit.
You are here to do the work. If not your karmic ties continue to cause suffering for not only you but others.
Cleaning up your act is key.
I am steering this project toward enlightenment.
The out pouring of support has given me the courage to face what became a detour into purgatory.
To love you all is sincerely supreme.
I look at pictures and I can read much into them..again a curse and blessing.
I can see stories and it's sometimes painfully truth shouting out!
It  hurts only when we feel attachment.
This body of work is filled with feel good and feel the light of many.
Love, education forgiveness and be ever present in the NOW.
We must work for all souls to love one another and rise above.
Today a new friend made me weep with this statement:
"If someone were to touch me now I would cry."
I understood this feeling with compassion and can only wish that all beings would suffer less.
Create good, suffer less and when you are honest you won't cause more suffering.
This project is a testimony of the LOVE I have for all as messenger.
It's co created with ALL the subjects and helpers that are making it bloom.
It will reside with LOVE for Humanity and All Souls seeking Spiritual growth.
Thank You to Burning Man for the platform to create.

QUOTES of LOVE

This large body of images and all the ingredients are being sifted through with only one mission; LOVE.
I am gathering quotes and feelings from many of the subjects to add to their spreads.
I have quotes from all the artist about what inspires!
Simple and to the point.
This morning I woke up to a lovely expression of love from Dr. Deb Windham.
She is truly a free spirit and beauty spreading joy and love to all she meets.
You don't even have to meet her to feel her freedom and reflection.
She just makes you just SMILE and say RIGHT ON.
The reason I went to Burning Man is not the reason I went to Burning man.
My mission in life is to message and inspire loving kindness.
To make a difference by telling life stories that can reveal truth, humor and beauty.
Sometimes stories are ugly and those too have lessons. Find the good.
For me...LOVE...plain and simple to let the Supreme Spirit filter message's through my body and soul as vehicle.
This project is on fire with love and it will inspire even the least awake human being to be a better person. 
The collection of characters in images are illuminating as well as educating soulful bits and pieces of individual and unique people.

Daily working on images output and retouching.
Gathering more quotes and adusting.
Edited 300 images out of 8000, still cutting.
Real Film has not even been considered yet with selects and scans.
To be determined in weeks to come.
Must make my goal of $15,000.00 to complete this project.

BLISS DANCE

Bliss 2010 Burning Man 
Marco Cochrane Artist and his amazing crew brought BLISS to the Playa.
She was the Belle of that Ball for sure.  My dear friend Nicole Bloss designed all the swag that went along with this huge beautiful piece.
Chakra infused.
50ft plus in height we all were in awe of this Vision of Beauty.
Marco s love for sculpting women is evident and precise.
I met Marco 2009 and he was part of my 
Catch of the Day book project.

Upon my entry to my first Burn I met greeters;
Nicole; "Alpha Pussy" and Janus Osiris RedMoon.
 I would in time become endeared and blessed by those I shared treasured moments. 
Marco told me outright I will be here next year with a large project and thus Bliss was created with the help of many, unmentioned and appreciated.
With love comes great possibility.
I have received so much love and encouragement from my tribe of burners that I can say I will be back with bigger and better projects as well and its the ART that is the MUSE
I feel real LOVE from folks that don t have a need to spout they are SPIRITUAL but ARE indeed deep and loving souls.
I am enveloped by abundance now that I've fueled a the real fire that supports artist and art.
Thank you for supporting my projects as they reinforce art on the PLAYA.

W o r k i n g  G i r l

Burning Man for me is all about meeting as many of the artist doing large art as possible.
Acts of randomness that create joy and bliss occurring constantly making one smile.
This feeds my soul artistically with wonder and merriment.
To break away from the stigmas of the event and shed some more positive light on it.
By working with the artist I felt that it sort of gives the event more dignity in the eyes of the public.   
A mixed reputation, Burning Man for me is about an artistic community.
All the "other stuff" may occur however this is often America in her Glory!
EXCESS and ACCESS.
I have experienced and shared many facets here and will continue to do so!
I 've had some very hard lessons learned and now I feel even more stealth to Warrior up and reveal artistically whatever message may be at hand.
As a journalist I have made many choices about what I care to show or NOT SHOW.
This event Burning Man is sacred space and I feel images can really hurt people and expose truths that may not be a mutual feelings shared with subjects and photographers.
Its important to shoot with a respectful heart and eye.
Many talented people spend an entire year of their life creating large art to share with the public.
I'm personally not interested in all the fringe things that occur on the Playa. I prefer to work and focus on the historical and emotional aspects.
This time it was to support my tribe that make tangible large pieces.
This is for me much more impressive.  I've never felt a need to be an exhibitionist and this is the perfect place for many folks to let it all hang out.
And it all hangs out seriously and usually very respectfully.
Burning Man is a city and I'm sure it has normal issues like any city but its got a better vibe for the time span it resides.
It s a playground for adults and some lucky children as well.
People plan all year round for it can be a life changing habitat.
Twelve days on the Playa and we didn't see it all or do it all but we explored and carefully documented those we had the privilege of sharing time.
This particular Burn I spent more time outside "day tripping". 
The reason behind it was that I had decided to shoot pin hole camera images.
These are best done in bright sunlight.  Usually long exposures of 30 seconds or so.
The theme Metropolis for many was more of Deco feel, and knowing that may happen I decided before hand to soften the sharp edges that I was anticipating.
I wanted the images to have a more poetic and painterly feel.
All art was shot 4x5 TriX film.
Next week I will tray develop those sheets in HC10.
A timely process.  Proof and begin scanning the selects to put into the designed book project Metrop O LOVE 2010 Burning Man Art/Artist and LOVE images.
The above image is of Dan Das Mann is with a piece that he and Karen Cusolito co created.  Karen had a separate piece as well of which will be a colour double page spread with a couple nude symbolic of Adam and Eve in a passion infused kiss.

To be naked and free and laughing with out a care is a beautiful thing.

As a photographer and professor at times I always encourage my students to one up themselves.  Many times I've had a assignments to photograph the same person in my career.
When I came upon the very much photographed Umbrella Dancers I was put to this challenge.  I love when this happens as you have to think quick like an athlete.
This is a digital file, I shot everyone on digital as well as film.  Shooting digital made it easier to remember and log in all the subjects.
On film I m pretty sure they are KISSING!
I sure hope so...or at least about to?

METROP O LOVE 35% Pledged!

 While driving along the Playa en-route to Robert Bengston's piece called FLIGHT a dust storm engulfed our mutant vehicle.  We stopped and waited for it to pass. A moment that was so memorable when this man appeared playing jazz on the Playa.
We enjoyed every magical minute.
Gathering his name and and than he played us a love song by Miles Davis.
We will share that with you in this book.

Here's our average for fund raising.
Today many lovely notes arrived supporting the art and my vision.
Not everyone is able to help out but the love pouring onto me right now is overwhelming and I am grateful.
Those who love and respect my vision my soul I thank you for stepping up.
Making images is what I do and I feel I am blessed with an unusual and soulful way of seeing and feeling within the world.  
Sometimes it s just difficult having an extra sense about things.  I can read into images and people, I can almost tell you the exact story without knowing it.   A curse and a blessing for some.  I try not to abuse it and that is often why I am granted access more than most.
It's bigger than me in my human form. No negative thoughts, just shared love and experiences therefore my energy moves me in and out of many walks of life.  I've seen it all. I've had the dregs and the most opulent open doors.  Those who know Spiritual love are open without attachment to a negative story.  I see it....I share it...Playful, loving and kind is what this book is filled with image wise.  Serious respect for the artist is given.
All to share with you.
It's a gift and I will give it back in Hearts.
